Recent Events Channel 13 News Clip detailing the Global Defender Blast Mitigation System (large file, allow ample time for download) June 2004: The Global Defender makes its official public appearance at the IABTI International conference in Baton Rouge, LA. With patent paperwork done and testing completed, our team was finally able to introduce the system to future users. This was also the official introduction of our new, SUV Portable System, designed to be transported and deployed from any full size SUV, truck, van, etc. We demonstrated this system to a crowd of approximately 200 at the outdoor demonstration day. Our system was used to mitigate the blast of 1/2 pound of binary explosive charge. The system performed perfectly, nearly silencing the deafening explosive blast. The system was extremely well received, and we are currently working with several potential customers. October 2003: The Global Defender team is invited by the FBI to Houston, TX for demonstrations to Federal, State and Local authorities. Although still in the testing stage at this point, the system performed flawlessly. The system was used to mitigate devices such as car bombs, pipe bombs, and dispersal devices. For a more detailed description of this testing and results, please go to our Testing and Results page. October 2003: Following our succesfull tests in Houston, TX earlier in the month, the Global Defender team was invited by the US Department of Energy to participate in RDD (Radioactive Dispersal Device) testing in Omaha, NE. The system was tested against an actual RDD consisting of 1 pound of high explosives laced with 2 daily doses of radioactive material (Technecium-99). The results were extraordinary. The Global Defender System completely suppressed the radioactive dispersal, and contained all of the material within it's proprietary foam. This containment was measured for over an hour after the shot, with no radioactive escape. For a more detailed description of this testing and results, please go to our Testing and Results page.
